UPDATE: High Winds Cause Delays on R1 Crane Removal

High winds earlier this week have had an impact on the dismantling of the Tower Crane on the R1 site. Teams will now have to work across Saturday 1st April and Sunday 2nd April to complete the works when the wind speed is expecting to drop. This will mean that the planned road closure along Handyside St will be extended until first thing on Monday 3rd April.

Handyside St Road Closure

For safety purposes, we will be implementing a road closure along Handyside Street from the UAL Platform Theatre to the Stable Street turning.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and the traffic marshals will be in place to minimise disruption.

A one way system (in reverse to the current one) will be operated from Canal Reach, down Stable Street to Goods Way for all traffic during this period.

Somers Town Bridge gets planning consent

The proposed new bridge, given the green light by Camden Council in March, will span the Regent's Canal, connecting King's Cross by the Western Coal Drops, to Camley Street and the Camley Street Natural Park beyond.
